Once you have a great dentist, there's no going back to okay-ish. I learned this the hard way. I first crossed paths with Dr. Tingey when he was at a location in a different city, and I was immediately impressed. Most people with doctorate degrees have high intelligence and low charisma, but Dr. Tingey has high intelligence and high charisma, which makes being his patient a thoroughly enjoyable experience. He doesn't just check on his patients' dental health. He cares about people on a personal level and takes the time to get to know them and see how they're doing in other areas, too. When he changed to this location, I at first kept going to the location closer to home and quickly decided it was worth the drive out to West Jordan, and if he ever switches locations again, I see myself driving to wherever that is, too (within reason. Please never go too far, Dr. Tingey). Not only is Dr. Tingey the best of the many dentists I've seen over the years, he has a great team as well. Shelby was the most thorough dental hygienist I ever had, but she wasn't just good at what she does. She took the effort to make it a great patient experience—sociable without it being awkward, presenting information in a way that's easy to understand, readily answering questions, etc. I didn't have as much interaction with Diego, the assistant, but from what I saw, he goes out of his way to keep the office as a whole running like a well-oiled machine, but a unique type of machine that runs efficiently while still striving to create a great patient experience for everyone that comes through the doors.
